George Turcotte Brothers Band CD Release Party Double Header!
George Turcotte takes the stage with a great new band (Peter Brown, Peter Newsom & Dave Colter). They’ve booked the Nepean Sail Club for Sunday, April 29th @ 7:00 pm to bring you live tunes from Tiller in a Rock Garden, Mellonta Tauta and the upcoming album, Uncle Joe and the Big City Blues.
Uncle Joe
is the only member who remained earthbound of the Family Smokes, from MT, and this album is his story, and his songs.
Tickets will go on sale at MMMusicworks on April 1st. The evening will be documented on video, and feature many of the guests that appear on the studio recordings.
Make Your OWN Music Video – a workshop with Rick Lazzara
Tuesday, April 24th, 6pm to 9pm, $45.
Algonquin College’s own Rick Lazzara (digital recording program) shows us how to make a professional looking music video using an inexpensive digital camera, microphone, free audio recording software and a Windows PC which includes Windows Movie Maker software. Anyone who’s seen the three-Georges and seven-Georges (featured above) videos (Rick was involved in an advisory capacity) will want in on this opportunity.
Rick takes you through the stages of planning the video, preparing the music, microphone & recording techniques, and shooting the video. Final assembly of the finished product will include music, video, titles, and effects. Also up for discussion: how to present your video to the world using social media.
