Studio

Hello. I’m George and I’m passionate about making music, live and in the studio. We have 800 square feet allocated for The Launchpad, a full on professional recording facility to be built here in tandem with our school and store beginning sometime in the near future. Meantime, our smaller studio is fully operational, and any queries welcomed. Full on projects to single instrument dubs, we deliver a powerful punch for such a small studio.

In the Works

  • “Mellonta Tauta”, George’s Turcotte Forthcoming Album

Here’s a taste of the forthcoming album, being song number 6, Gumshoe. It’ll give you an idea of where George’s head is at on this one – it’s a bit “off the path.” The tune features an ancient pump organ, big drums and the banjo to create the atmosphere we’re looking for here. Enjoy, and look for your copy at MMMusicworks on December 3rd or beyond!

  • Earl Mosseau’s Debut CD, “Long Time Comin’”

July finds us in the studio working on pre-production for folk singer / songwriter Earl Mosseau’s debut cd, “Long Time Comin’.” That’s just a working handle I made up, because it’s really high time this guy made a record. He’s got a whack of great tunes up his sleeve. The album will feature largely Earl on guitars and vocals, Tobias Meis on double bass, T. Bruce Wittet on percussion and myself on Dobro & mandolin. Other guests will likely include (though they don’t know it yet) Keith Glass (guitar), Miss Kathryn Briggs (piano) and Katy Maltby (voice). Production is slated for the third week of August, and will be captured (he doesn’t know it yet) by one of Canada’s elite engineers, Almonte’s own Ken Friesen.
